Mortgage Underwriter-Part Time
Job Summary: Reviews and reconciles all documents pertaining to loan approvals. Prepares required documents for lender approval.
Essential Functions: Operations- Responsible for underwriting and documentation requirements for each individual mortgage loan. Works closely with loan officer to ascertain loan is approved and documented according to lending guidelines and approval of loan officer. Completes appraisal checklist for each loan in process including appraisal prepared for multiple lines of credit. Completes application checklist for each loan in process as well as loan approval notices and commitment letters for each loan approved. Completes a file review and review of loan information entered in mortgage processing system. Compiles monthly management reports to include Loan Officer Activity Report, Funds Management Report, Real Estate Activity Report, Mortgage Loans over $100,000, etc. Processes loans as trained and completes any duties assigned by management whenever applicable. Prepares modifications and all related documentation for loan officers and reviews with customer whenever necessary. Adheres to all rules and regulations applicable to this position. Performs all other duties that may be assigned.
Customer Service- Greets and assists customers any way possible. Answers departmental calls and route messages accordingly. Provides customer information as requested in person or by telephone that relates to daily business activities.
Education, Skills and Experience Required/Desired: Required – Excellent organizational, time management, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work accurately with detailed information. PC proficiency with working knowledge of Word and Excel. Ability to make sound business decisions, use good judgment and apply established policies and procedures.
Preferred – Prior experience in real estate closings.
