Director of Network Administration
Job Objective: Manages the Network Administration Department to insure the uninterrupted and secure flow of information to authorized users throughout the enterprise. Provides for the reliable backup of critical server based information and develops business interruption contingency plans for these assets. Develops and writes policies and procedures to manage risk. Responsible for budgeting, planning and managing the implementation of major IT initiatives within the Company. Seeks ways to creatively apply new technologies and tools to improve Company productivity and profitability.
Essential Functions: Secures customer and company information stored on network devices from unauthorized access and ensures frequent, reliable backup of the information stored on network devices - 20%. Develops the Company’s business interruption contingency plan for networks and data. Works all other departments and areas of the Company to ensure the swift resumption of operations in the event of a disaster - 10%. Management of Network Administration professionals and support area to assist users in the efficient use of StellarOne’s technology investments -15%. Producing and analyzing key performance metrics to ensure that Network Services is delivering service in accordance with established service level agreements - 10%. Engages and supports stakeholders in a strategic capacity by identifying opportunities to enhance operational performance. Conducts periodic planning and operational meetings with all levels of management - 10%. Responsible for the development of clear, written policies and procedures for the areas of responsibility - 10%. Serving as a project lead for installation of networking systems and solutions to include functional leading and coordinating of staff, vendors and subcontractors - 10%. Effectively manages contracts with vendors and communicates information regarding these contracts to management - 10%. Develops a yearly budget and communicates necessary networking technology upgrades to all departments and areas of the Company-5%.
Performance Management: Documents employee performance throughout the work cycle. Provides timely and appropriate feedback/coaching as necessary. Plans for performance discussions, clarifies performance expectations, conducts performance reviews and recommends appropriate pay adjustments.

Compliance: Performs assigned responsibilities in compliance with all job-relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Maintains current operating knowledge of all job-relevant legal and regulatory requirements through the successful completion of mandatory compliance and regulatory training and attendance at all mandatory regulatory compliance activities.
Non-Essential Functions: Performs other duties that may be assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience Required: Four year degree and continuing education in the management of information technology, especially in a banking environment. Microsoft and Cisco advanced certifications are preferred. Six to ten years of extensive computer network and information processing equipment experience required, especially in a banking environment. Knowledge and experience in leading teams of technical and non-technical personnel in the planning and deployment of software and hardware solutions. Knowledge of advanced networking technologies and software solutions, especially Storage Area Networks (SAN) and virtual server and workstations. Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written forms to vendors, employees and management of the holding company and affiliates. Ability to organize work flow and prioritize projects. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to make decisions in a timely manner and with appropriate support, justification, and follow-up.
Special Requirements: Requires frequent work outside of normal business hours including weekends and holidays.
